Trinity Church of England Secondary School
: Trinity, Church of England Secondary School is the third school in Lewisham’s BSF to be designed by ACP. Its Grand Opening took place on 10 June 2011 and was conducted by Dr John Sentamu, Archbishop of York in the presence of the Right Reverend Christopher Chessun, Bishop of Southwark. The quality of the school was recognised in May 2011 at the London District Surveyor’s Association Building Excellence Awards where it won Best Education Project. It was also shortlisted for the Partnerships Bulletin Awards 2011: Best Education Project.

West
London Academy: Architects Co-Partnership have been successful in being appointed alongside Kier London as Preferred Bidder in the project to expand and remodel the West London Academy, Ealing.
The project will include a new Design and Technology Department, Art Department, ICT and general classrooms
and Media Suite within a new extension which can be separately accessed via a new community entrance. A new early years unit will increase the primary element of the all through academy
to three forms entry. The existing building will be recinfigured internally to rationalise departmental accommodation.
A detailed planning application is scheduled for submission this month following public consultation with the academy pupils,
staff and local community.’

Ken
Morris: Ken has retired from the practice in February 2011 after 27 years
service. Ken joined ACP in 1984 from Enfield Council, as a project architect for
laboratory projects at the University of Bristol. He was appointed
an Associate in 1988, a Director in 1994 and took on practice
responsibility for Health Care, Custodial and Research Sectors in
addition to CDM services. Ken was heavily involved in the design of
research facilities at Imperial College London, Bristol University,
Kings College London and Guy's & St Thomas's Hospital. Work took Ken
to Gaza where he was responsible for the new UNWRA hospital. Ken was
involved in major custodial projects at Wormwood Scrubbs and Swaleside Prisons, and with
the UK Immigration Service at major UK airports, together with many
other projects for the Home Office`. Ken will continue his involvement with the Practice as a Consultant.09.02.11
Gulfstream
Luton Hangar 125 Upgrades: ACP have been
appointed for the conversion of the existing Signature Hangar into a
service centre for Gulfstream Aerospace Ltd. ACP designed the
original building, constructed in 2002, as a Hangar for storage and
basic maintenance of executive aircraft. It is capable of housing
six Boeing 737 or between 20 and 25 smaller corporate executive
jets. Working for US based contractor The Haskell Company, ACP are
providing full design services for the conversion into a fully
integrated service centre. The services and equipment will be
upgraded to provide 11 service bays and new accommodation for the
increased staffing levels.

Coppice
Performing Arts School, Wolverhampton BSF: ACP are delighted to
achieve planning consent for Coppice Performing Arts School, part of
the first phase of Wolverhampton’s BSF. The design provides 30% new
build and reorganises the school into four separate Learning Zones,
each with a multi-purpose Home Base at its centre. A new Theatre on
the school’s frontage celebrates its long established performing
arts specialist status. The theatre will be an area to showcase
school work and bring the community into the school, helping to
develop civic pride and promote social cohesion. more27.01.11
The Bushey Academy: An outstanding effort by the design team working with Kier London assisted in achieving Financial Close on The Bushey Academy at the beginning of December 2010.

Julian Dimond Morris: It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of Julian Morris after a brave fight against cancer. One of
ACP’s Associates, ‘Jules’ worked for a total of 26 years at ACP and
will be remembered for his reliable, solid, no-nonsense attitude
that made every project a success. Jules could turn his hand to any
building type, but excelled with process driven projects working in
Residential, Defence, Health, Prison, Airport, Industrial and
Research sectors with many projects at Imperial College. Apart from
architecture, his other great passion was Spurs.

The Bushey Academy: Planning permission has just been granted for The Bushey Academy, a new build Academy in Hertfordshire, the second of Hertfordshire’s two new Academies to be designed by Architects Co-Partnership. It is to be constructed by Kier. Construction will shortly begin on this new 1350 place school with the twin specialisms of Business and Communication. The design includes a new theatre, sports hall, and Market Place in which to showcase the specialisms and act as the central hub of the school community.

Highlands
Secondary School, Enfield: ACP's first PFI School celebrates its 10th birthday. Highlands School in Enfield was designed by ACP and commenced operation in 2000. It is the very first all new PFI school in the UK. Details of the celebration can be found here:

Secondary School, Luton BSF and Chatham House School, Kent BSF: Plans to redevelop the two schools have been shelved as result of the government's suspension of Labour's £55bn School Building programme.

Francis
Combe Academy: Work on the first of two Academies in
Hertfordshire is due to commence in June. The £24million Francis
Combe Academy in Garston, Watford will be constructed by Kier London
in partnership with Architects Co-Partnership (ACP) as part of the
Academies Framework. The second academy, The Bushey Academy, is at
pre planning stage and is also expected to be completed in 2012.

Stopsley
Secondary School, Luton BSF:
ACP are delighted to achieve planning consent for Stopsley Secondary School, part of Luton’s BSF. The planning committee complemented the design and considered that of the
four schools in the BSF’s second phase, it captured the ethos of change best and could become one of the landmark buildings of the program.

Architecture for Humanity: Anthony Cole, a Senior Architect with ACP, has been appointed a Trustee of Architecture for Humanity UK (AFHUK), a Chapter of Architecture for Humanity, a worldwide network of more than 40 000 professionals willing to lend time and expertise to help those who would not otherwise be able to afford their services. Architecture for Humanity provides design, construction and development services where they are most critically needed, in the UK and in the developing world. Anthony will be bringing the skills and experience he uses on ACP projects to working with other trustees to identify worthwhile projects, structure AFH responses to requests for assistance and to coordinate teams of enthusiastic volunteer professionals.

Wolverhampton
BSF: An outstanding effort by the inspiredspaces team assisted
in achieving Financial Close on Wolverhampton BSF at the end of
March 2010 just two months after being announced Preferred Bidder.
ACP were responsible for designing and gaining Planning Consent for
one of the sample schools comprising the co-location of the
Highfields Science Specialist School and Penn Fields Special Needs
School.

Broadfields
Primary School, Barnet: This new £9.7 million primary
school was completed and handed over to the London Borough of Barnet
and the school at Easter. The new summer term opened with the school
successfully transferred into their new buildings. Work continues
with the demolition of the old school and the completion of the
landscaping.

Wolverhampton BSF: ACP is delighted to have won through with the inspiredspaces team to be Preferred Bidder on Wolverhampton BSF. ACP undertook the design of one of the two sample schools for
Carillion, the contractor. A new school campus replaces the existing Highfields
Science Specialist School on its existing site, and
co-locates it with Penn Fields Special Needs School from
another part of the City.

Cambridge BSF: ACP
was part of the inspiredspaces team that came a close second on
Cambridgeshire BSF. ACP designed Thomas Clarkson Community College,
one of the two sample schools, and also undertook the role of Design Champion on the
second sample school.

Coulsdon Academy:
ACP took second place in the bid for the 1150 pupil Oasis Academy in Coulsdon Surrey with Kier Education for the transformation of a tired school campus into a vibrant new Academy.

HAA Award-Parmiters School, Garston: ACP were awarded the 2009 HAA award for the design of the new Drama Centre at Parmiters school. The new centre is sited on land previously occupied by temporary classrooms, and completes the fourth side of the quadrangle formed by the pavillion, the sports hall and the new classroom block.
Francis Combe Academy: ACP were awarded preferred bidders status for the design of Francis Combe Academy. In association with Kier Southern, the work commenced September 2009 and is due for completion September 2012.
